The site of today's Pease District Park was part of the 365-acre Woodlawn homestead owned by former Texas Governor E. M. Pease and his wife, Lucadia. Although Governor Pease supported the Union during the Civil War, research has found that at least 37 individuals were directly enslaved or leased as enslaved labor by the Pease family. This tour recognizes and shares some of the stories of a few of these people.

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, Pease Park Conservancy is hosting a donation drive for the Austin community! Stop by to drop off non-perishable food items as well as diapers and period products. Donations will be delivered to the Micah 6 food pantry and the Austin Diaper Bank.

Pease Park Conservancy is excited to partner with Austin Bat Cave for the Stories on the Go series! During this iteration, participants will be able to collect and swap books, visit the Bat Bus, and experience a unique performance.
This event is free, open to the public, and fun for all ages.

During this event, children will write stories with autumnal themes that can be shared around campfires, living room floors, and anywhere with a group. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit the Bat Bus, score FREE books, and create unique zines!

Join Pease Park Conservancy for a guided walk through Kingsbury Commons and learn about the forest ecosystem in the area.
During this walk, you can expect to learn about the unique geology of the land, the kinds of species found in this habitat type, the challenges these habitats might face, and more. We will meet at the front end of Kingsbury Commons, to the right of the Picnic Table area, and make our way throughout the park.

Join us for Rise!—an evening celebrating Austin’s Black freedom communities. The event features an excerpt from the film Rise, followed by a panel discussion exploring the rich history of these communities, the importance of fostering unity, and stories from their descendants.
RISE is presented by Pease Park Conservancy, Art Is Cool, and SPACES. It is supported by the City of Austin Heritage Tourism Division

❄️ WEATHER UPDATE: Due to the cold weather we will be collecting donations at the Tudor Cottage and Terrace. Please drive up the hill, park at the striped “Event Designated Parking” spots, and PPC Staff/volunteers will collect your donation.
