Join Pease Park Conservancy's Conservation Team and help us remove invasive species from Pease Park!
As an invasive species, catclaw is an aggressive and fast-growing vine that does not provide beneficial services to our ecosystem while taking valuable resources necessary for native plants and animals.
This volunteer opportunity will focus on removing as many catclaw tubers as possible from the Hillside of Kingsbury Commons. Following removal we will spread native wildflower and grass seed to encourage the growth of native species.
All ages welcome: children must have adult supervision.
What to Bring:
Please wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting dirty and bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. We will provide all necessary materials, but you are welcome to bring your own gloves.
Getting to Kingsbury Commons:
We highly encourage alternate forms of transportation such as public transportation, walking, biking, ridesharing and carpooling if you are able.
Meeting Location:
When you arrive to Pease Park, please make your way to the volunteer hub. This is the large metal building just nest to the restrooms along the concrete trail.
