Position Description:
Pease Park Conservancy is hiring a Development Coordinator, a full-time position located in Austin, TX. As an integral member of the Development Team, the Development Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Development and the Development Manager and is responsible for supporting the Conservancy’s fundraising efforts, including database management, donor stewardship, gifts processing, event planning, and other crucial administrative and operational tasks. Additionally, this position will seek to create long-term relationships with community members and donors, as well as collaborate with colleagues on a variety of projects that advance our mission.

Key Responsibilities:
General Development Coordinator Tasks

  • Enter, maintain, and report on critical data including donor information, donor payments, events, prospect data, and sending tax letters/ gift acknowledgements 

  • Track and ensure benefits facilitation for sponsors and donors

  • Build and manage stewardship plans for donors, including delivering gifts and writing thank you notes 

  • Assist in the coordination/ facilitation of Development Committee meetings, Board meetings, and events

  • Create content as needed for development campaigns and donor communication in conjunction with the Communications Team

  • Attend and assist with Conservancy programs and events as needed

  • Other duties as needed or assigned

Event Support

  • Assist in coordination and execution of annual fundraising events (Squirrel Fest, Pride Picnic, Luminarium, and other donor cultivation events)

  • Oversee facility rentals using Tripleseat, including responding to inquiries in a timely manner, sharing details about the available areas, giving tours, properly charging renters, facilitating event logistics as needed, and communicating any needs with staff

Experience & Skills Required:

  • One year experience in fundraising, project coordination, event planning, and/or administrative work

  • Excellent communication skills–written, visual, and verbal–with the ability to present ideas effectively

  • Proven project management skills with the ability to take a project from conception through completion while working independently

  • Previous experience with CRM Software. Specific experience in Salesforce, Tripleseat, and/or Donorbox is a plus

  • Previous experience in constituent segmentation and list management

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and function independently and collaboratively 

  • Must be process-oriented and results-driven with a high level of self-motivation

  • Must be flexible and resourceful, with a positive attitude and a warm, professional demeanor

  • Demonstrated passion for nature, the outdoors, and Pease Park

  • Reliable transportation and availability to work occasional nights and weekend hours for various PPC programs and events

Salary & Benefits:
The position is full-time with compensation commensurate with experience. We have a generous benefits package, including health, dental and vision insurance, generous time off, and a retirement match.

The Development Coordinator will also assist Pease Park Conservancy staff with general office duties and special projects as needed in a small nonprofit environment. Pease Park Conservancy has an office located at 1609 Shoal Creek Blvd, across from Pease Park. This is a full-time (40 hours/ week) position with flexible scheduling and the ability to work from the office, home, or other locations.
